Get ready for tailgating!!! some football too…
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008Ah….the smell of something new is in the air in Blacksburg, Va and other towns throughout the country that host NCAA football on weekends during the fall months. Not only are schools, such as Virginia Tech, opening up a new school year to freshmen students…they are also opening their schools back open for alumni to come back and celebrate their “best years of their life” and partake in some brotherly love, while rooting for their home team.
I, myself, will be celebrating this newfound feeling this fall, due to recently graduating from Virginia Tech in the spring. I will no longer be waking up at an “early” 8 a.m. to go tailgate, but will now be waking up between the hours of 4-5 a.m. in order to make the trek to Blacksburg and the Duck Pond Lot. It shall be a different feeling and I am welcoming seeing my “little piece of heaven” for a couple of weekends this fall.
SpitzerTailgate.com will soon be posting different reviews and predictions for the upcoming Virginia Tech season. We will also review other topics in NCAA football and also in the ACC. In the meantime, I suggest that you go to Tyrod-Taylor.com and read Mr. Bradley’s reviews & predictions for the year.
Until next time…WHOA!!!

Dillard’s season derailed by injury
Monday, July 7th, 2008It has been announced by the Virginia Tech Athletic Department that Brandon Dillard ruptured his Achilles tendon and will be out for the entire 2008 football season. Dillard, whose position at flanker was a key position for the rebuilding Hokies this year, injured himself during “player organized passing drills.” I wonder if Beamer approves of these “player organized” meetings and practices. They probably contribute to more pain, than improvement.
Time will soon tell if Dillard’s absence from the gridiron will matter to the outcome of the Hokies’ season.
In other words, SpitzerTailgate.com is proud to be able to say that the Hokie football season is not too far away. Until then, WHOA! and….GO HOKIES!
